![]() Lunar gods were almost always shown with this symbol on their heads. When depicted, the moon is most commonly represented as a combination of the full-moon disk with the crescent moon. Rather, like animals, it was regarded as a symbol or manifestation of specific deities. However, unlike the solar Aten, it is uncertain that the disk of the moon was itself ever worshipped as a deity during the history of ancient Egypt.
